  • A classic it depends job here, but I've tried to articulate some bounds to help people make layout decisions in the simplest way possible https://piccalil.li/blog/if-it-works-its-right/.

  • What are folks using instead of Buffer? I like buffer but the UI gets a bit cludgy, which means I don't interact with it much and let Zapier do a lot based on RSS.

Because of that though, it's not being posting to Piccalilli's mastodon at all because I haven't checked it in so long 😑

  • I remember being obsessed with N, the flash game https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N_(video_game).

I just spotted N++ is going super cheap on the PlayStation store https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N_(video_game).

Thats me sorted for about 10 years lol

  • “If WordPress had a privileged code path that was only accessible to sites deployed to Automattic properties, would it be trusted as a truly open project and would it have the dominance it has today?”

  • Has anyone in the accessibility and UX world got any research on why scroll-jacking and/or scroll-smoothing is absolutely awful for users?

  • I got this feedback for complete-css.com and it demonstrates that you're learning how to build proper production CSS that actually scales.

There's a strong focus on soft skills (core skills) and they also help you write good CSS, but the important thing is you walk away with strong CSS skills.

    Discord message:

I just have some major praise for this course. I sort of approached the course from the back to front, I started experimenting and reading the bloom academy site before I did a bunch of lessons.

I started hacking away at the page. I copied the source and made it local and then I just started 🪓 cutting whole sections and yet somehow what was left.. just worked. It was truly a composable solid foundation. It wasnt brittle. I felt better about buying the course.

  • We've got 1 in-person and 2 online tickets for State of the Browser available from our @set.studio sponsorship to give away.

I was planning on getting down there, but I'm not gonna be available with the rail replacement situation and timing.

    First come, first served!
