I think I need to change my attitude towards webrings

I’ve always been a bit meh about webrings but I’ve noticed they’ve evolved a bit, like this one.

I clicked through to Ariel’s site because I knew she would have nailed the UI for that typically, footer-based nav. Imagine my surprise when I found this interesting alternative instead.

It’s really cool because I can see all the communities she’s in. I always presumed it was a one webring and done thing.

Anyway, I clicked “next” on the design systems webring and found this lush website by Eva.

She also deals with webrings in a really nice way. It’s such a simple yet effective way of discovering not just more sites, but more about what people are into, right off the bat.

Most importantly this is all on their websites that they crafted to be their own — in both Ariel and Eva’s case.

I think I need to change my attitude towards webrings basically.
