Looking for a small project for our Junior Developer
I don’t know if you know already, but at my agency—Set Studio—we hired a junior developer—Liridon—who we are training from scratch. They’d never written a single line of code before December 2022, but are already flying with their internal training!
Right now, we are training them up with a collection of courses and small internal projects which is fine, but I know they’ll learn the most from a real life client project.
We are looking for a smaller-scale project for them to complete, with the rest of the team. Right now, most of our client work is way too big and complex to introduce a junior of their experience to. We’d hate for that to end up reducing their confidence. We feel like a smaller-scale project would be a great first one for them to do for the agency because of this.
Liridon is currently specialising in front-end development. Mainly HTML, CSS and JavaScript. We’re also going to get them into working with static site generators like Eleventy and CMSs like WordPress and Sanity.
The ideal project for Liridon would be a small to medium website. Even a one-pager, like a conference site would be incredibly useful for them. The key is limited scope that would benefit from some world-class design.
Of course, this project would be done at an extremely reduced rate because as we all know from starting out, there will be rough edges. I’m confident that what Liridon, and the rest of the Set Team will deliver at the end will be stunning, though. This would be an ideal project for a startup that maybe didn’t think they had the budget for an agency to work on their project.
If this sounds good, I’d love to hear from you to chat things over in more detail at [email protected]
