This Is Why – Paramore

Look, there’s bias here because I was extremely emo in the mid-2000s, so Paramore is always going to get a good review.

But, my god, I’m in to “This Is Why”: their recent album release. In fact, I think I’m low-key addicted to “Running Out Of Time” because it reminds me so much of Proceed (seriously good, check them out).

This album also makes me think of Finch, in the way that Paramore’s sound has evolved so much over time. Finch went from straight-up emo, to a more mature, clean sound, with smart-as-hell songwriting. I think Paramore are in a similar place too, but they went through a pop era (which I liked). I hope they stick at this evolution, because it really works for them.

Overall, it’s great to see Paramore back. They’re bloody great.
